Seminole County election workers gear up for busy Election Day after strong early turnout

Workers in Seminole County are making final preparations for polls to open Tuesday, one day before the midterm election.Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Amy Pennock said clerks were checking out supplies Monday to make sure everything is ready at each of the county’s polling locations. The preparations came after 89,972 ballots were cast during early voting — an increase from the last midterm election.“We had 13% over the 2022 election, so very steady turnout,” Pennock said. “We’re very excited. We’re looking forward to a busy Election Day.”Lines were reported at each of the county’s seven early voting locations, with Casselberry considered the busiest site for voters casting ballots before Election Day.“I think we’re going to see some lines at Election Day. It just means people are excited to get out there and vote,” Pennock said.Anyone planning to vote Tuesday is urged to research their polling location ahead of time and bring a valid photo ID with signature identification.Vote
