Orange County Animal Services is back to full operations on Wednesday after a temporary disruption tied to the construction of its new shelter — and it’s celebrating with $5 pet adoptions through Sunday, Oct. 18.The promotion is available for all dogs and cats aged 4 months and older. Shelter officials shared that routine animal intake and all standard services are back to normal following the construction-related adjustments.“We appreciate our community’s patience and understanding as we worked through this phase of construction,” Division Manager Diane Summers said. “Now that we’re back to normal operations, we’re excited to offer this promotion and hopefully help many of the wonderful pets in our care find their new families.”The new shelter is expected to open in fall 2027, offering more than 123,000 square feet of space, including 265 dog kennels and room for nearly 200 cats.Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
