Florida man says he’ll admit to murder in exchange for Philly Cheesesteak — Oviedo Community news

A Florida murder suspect with a hearty appetite made headlines after he said he’d accept a plea deal, which could send him to prison for life — in exchange for lunch. The suspect in question, identified as 74-year-old Robert Kessler, faces a first-degree murder charge in the death and dismemberment of a 47-year-old woman he was living with in November 2021.During Monday’s jury selection, though, Kessler can be heard on video agreeing to plead guilty on one condition.“I’ll do that for a Philly cheesesteak, and an order of fries and a Pepsi,” he said. “So you’re telling me you would open plead to life in prison?” the judge can be heard asking. “Philly cheesesteak with onions on it and mayonaisse, and, uh, fries,” Kessler responded. “And a 20-oz. Pepsi.”The prosecution’s attorney said that’s not an option, so Kessler opted to not plead guilty after all.As such, the trial is still ongoing. You can watch News 6 anchors Matt Austin and Ginger Gadsden react to the viral moment at the top of thi
